GRADED SPELLING SENTENCE GUIDELINES
1. All sentences should be grammatically correct, free
of spelling errors, neat, and legible.
2.
Spelling words should be underlined.
3.
Each sentence should be at least seven words long.
4. Spelling words should be used in a way that demonstrates
an understanding of their meanings.
5.
Beginnings of sentences should be varied. No more than 2 sentences should begin with
the same word.
6.
A variety of sentence types (statements, questions,
exclamations, commands, dialogues) should be used. No more
than 6 sentences should end in periods.
Quite often parents and teachers hear......"I don't know what this word means!" How can I write this word in a sentence?" This word might be a verb but I am not sure!" Help is on the way!!!!
