Homework Information
Spelling
·        Each child will be given 10 spelling words every other Monday that will be tested on Friday.
Spelling HW
Monday word sort
Tuesday word meaning
Wednesday 10 Vocabulary Sentences (not spelling words)
Thursday 5x each and Study for Test
·        


GRADED SPELLING SENTENCE GUIDELINES



1.  All sentences should be grammatically correct, free of spelling errors, neat, and legible.



2.              Spelling words should be underlined.



3.              Each sentence should be at least seven words long.


4.              Spelling words should be used in a way that demonstrates an understanding of their meanings.

5.              Beginnings of sentences should be varied.  No more than 2 sentences should begin with the same word.

6.              A variety of sentence types (statements, questions, exclamations, commands, dialogues) should be used.   No more than 6 sentences should end in periods.




Quite often parents and teachers hear......"I don't know what this word means!"  How can I write this word in a sentence?" This word might be a verb but I am not sure!"   Help is on the way!!!!

    I ended up on your site looking for article on type of Sentences . I noticed that you certainly do have excellent and creative ideas on the topic Sentence Types . I appreciate the amount of research you have done . Great read.
